Workforce Training Curriculum
The QIC-EY Coaching Guides help supervisors turn training into real-world skill building. By strengthening critical thinking, reflection, and authentic engagement, these guides support staff in improving safety, well-being, and permanency outcomes for the children and youth they serve.
The Coaching Guidebook Introduction establishes the purpose and benefits of child welfare coaching, outlines the structure of the Coaching Guides, and provides step-by-step instructions for using them to support ongoing skill development for staff who have completed the QIC-EY Workforce Training, Transforming Engagement: Keeping Children at the Center of Our Work.
The QIC-EY coaching component equips supervisors with tools and strategies to infuse lessons from the QIC-EY Workforce Training into the daily practices of child welfare staff. Staff members who attended the QIC-EY Workforce Training learned key competencies to improve their interactions with children and youth. Coaching Guides corresponding to training modules 2 through 7 provide coaches with the information they need to support ongoing skill development for staff members. This information includes:
